Team involvement - Christopher Lane
The production was created by director Christopher Lane, noted VR company Breaking Fourth and Arts Council England's Grant For The Arts programme. The experience is a multiuser experience designed for the Oculus Quest headset.
About the story:
Reorientation is a new VR drama that fuses theatre and virtual reality technology to create a female-led drama that advocates for LGBT inclusivity. This twenty minute narrative sci-fi VR story will immerse the audience-participant in an attempt, by scientists, to re-programme the ‘sexual orientations’ of the two female AI protagonists. Using the empathetic power of VR, the piece addresses the struggles of the LGBT community in an era of increasing intolerance, confronts the unethical practice of conversion therapy and celebrates the enduring nature of love.
